Influence of Quantum and Thermal Noise on Spin-Torque-Driven Magnetization Switching

open access: yes, 2013
We apply a recently developed quantum theory of spin transfer torque to study the effect of the quantum noise in spin transfer process on the magnetization switching in spin-torque-driven devices. The quantum noise induces considerable fluctuation of the

Determination of soil properties from standard penetration test complemented by torque measurement (SPT-T)

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2014
The major problem on geotechnical work is to ensure that no settlements occur during the life cycle of the construction. This involves proper design of foundations and their bearing capacity. The Brazilian standard for design and execution of foundations,

PASSIVE TORQUE SIMULATION OF SMALL ANGULAR CONTACT BEARING AT HIGH SPEED [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Description of common ball bearing torque models was presented and adopted to the complex thermo-mechanical model of the high speed spindle. Ball bearing passive torque was measured on the own high-speed spindle design.

Dynamic Testing of Cold Gas Sprayed Bipolar Plates–Porous Transport Layer Coating System in Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

Load Analysis Method for Modernising the Propulsion of an Inland Pusher

open access: yesPolish Maritime Research
New environmental and business requirements mean that inland fleets need to be renewed; however, replacing an entire fleet is generally difficult and expensive. The modernisation of existing vessels may be a viable solution, particularly as this approach

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.
