Current harmonic selection for torque ripple suppression based on analytical torque model of PMSMs

Journal of Power Electronics, 2020
For permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) without sufficient design optimization, it is necessary to inject current harmonics to suppress torque ripple. Due to the influence of magnetic saturation, the current harmonics for torque ripple suppression changes with the electrical loads.

Structure Optimization of Switched Reluctance Motor for Torque Ripple Suppression

2019 22nd International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2019
To suppress the torque ripple of the switched reluctance motor (SRM), a novel structure with the shape optimization for the stator pole and rotor pole is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the output characteristics of initial SRM are analyzed by finite element method (FEM) to select the optimization variables.

Quick torque ripple suppression controlled fast position servo based on hybrid system of disturbance observer and torque ripple table

IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015
In the field of high-precision position control, the position response requires that there is no vibration. However, a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has a wide variety of torque-ripple components, including cogging torque and flux harmonics, which degrade the control performance.

Torque ripple suppression in surface mounted PMSMs with distributed windings

2017 15th International Conference on Electrical Machines, Drives and Power Systems (ELMA), 2017
This paper examines the torque ripple variation of surface mounted PMSMs with distributed windings and large number of slots per pole. The effect of established cogging torque reduction methods such as magnet step skewing, stator dummy slots and magnet pole shaping on the torque ripple variations and magnetic flux production is investigated, as these ...

Noise reduction by torque ripple suppression in brushless DC motor

PESC 98 Record. 29th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (Cat. No.98CH36196), 2002
The acoustic noise of a brushless DC motor is thought to be partly due to torque ripple. This paper examines, both analytically and experimentally, the effect of ripple reduction on the noise reduction. To realize the torque ripple reduction an overlapping of phase current is utilized here.

Mutual torque ripple suppression of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor

2005 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2005
The mutual torque ripples generated by surface-mounted PMSM would degrade the motor performance at load condition. This paper gives a systematic way to suppress the mutual torque ripples using a MRAS-based flux linkage estimator and a LS-based harmonic selective filter.

Magnetization Process of an HTS Motor and the Torque Ripple Suppression

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2009
This paper describes in detail the magnetization process of a synchronous motor, constructed with High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) elements on the rotor. The Pulse Field Magnetization (PFM) method is considered to magnetize the HTS rotor as a four-pole trapped flux magnet. A 2D model is built for the magnetization process.
