Design and Performance Research of Flexible Drill Pipe Joint Based on Bionic Theory
Fatigue fracture is the main failure form of mining drill pipe joints, which directly leads to the occurrence of drill pipe drop accidents. Based on the principle of engineering bionics, the spine structure and kinematic behavior characteristics of ...

Alternative dynamic torsion test to evaluate the elastic modulus of polymers
This work presents an alternative for the determination of the torsion modulus, G, of polymers. These materials may be subjected to shear stresses in some structural applications; thereby, the knowledge of G is of great interest.

Mechanical behaviour of shape memory alloys for seismic applications 1. Martensite and austenite NiTi bars subjected to torsion [PDF]
The mechanical behaviour of several specimens of nickel–titanium Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) has been deeply investigated through a large experimental test program and numerical simulations, in view of their possible use as kernel components for seismic ...

Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Ti-6Al-7Nb Processed by High-pressure Torsion [PDF]
Ti-6Al-7Nb was deformed by high-pressure torsion to improve the mechanical properties of the alloy. high-pressure torsion was conducted at room temperature under pressures of 2 and 6GPa for disk-shaped specimens.

Mechanical Properties and Microstructural Evolutions of High-Pressure Torsion-Processed Al7068 Alloy [PDF]
The combination of severe plastic deformation, deformational heat, and frictional heat generated during the high-pressure torsion process has a great effect on microstructural evolutions, including grain refinement, dynamic recrystallization and recovery.

Mechanisms of divergent torsional strain in myopia
Perpose. To study the mechanism of extralenticular accommodation under conditions of divergent torsional strain (DTS). Material and methods. The study involved 14 students (28 eyes) with mild and moderate myopia, whose average age was 21.7 years. Among them were 4 boys and 10 girls.

Testicular ascent as a mechanism for intra-abdominal torsion
Testicular ascent, while uncommon, can occur. A testicle that has ascended out of the scrotum can torse and may present as an acute inguinal mass or acute abdomen. Testicle ascent can occur even if previous intra-scrotal location has been documented.
