Structural Interface Engineering Unlocks Native‐Like Mechanics in Biomimetic Intervertebral Discs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Engineered interlamellar and radial fibrous interfaces enable biomimetic intervertebral disc constructs to replicate native mechanical behavior. Suture‐reinforced laminates enhance cohesion and shear strength, while radial fibers improve compressive resilience and stress redistribution.

Mucosa‐Interfacing Capsule for In Situ Sensing the Elasticity of Biological Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
A fundamental mechanism of palpating soft materials is reported to sense deep tissue elasticity in situ with minimal invasion using the interaction between the robot palpation unit and soft tissues. Both the robot locomotion and elasticity sensing functions are remotely controlled by external magnetic fields, while the sensing data are wirelessly ...

Spatial Discrimination Threshold Abnormalities are not Detected in a Pilot Study of DYT6 Dystonia Mutation Carriers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background: Spatial discrimination thresholds (SDTs) assess somatosensory integration, and provide a window into better understanding the pathophysiology of dystonia. They are abnormal in some focal dystonias, but normal in DYT1 dystonia.

Role of deformation imaging in left ventricular non-compaction and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: an Indian perspective

open access: yesThe Egyptian Heart Journal, 2020
Background Speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) has emerged as a novel feasible tool for the assessment of left ventricular rotational parameters. Since hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM) shares morphologic features with left ventricular non-compaction (
