Modeling Sudden Ice Shedding from Conductor Bundles
Sudden ice shedding from conductor bundles was modeled numerically and experimentally by improving the approaches proposed formerly for a single cable. The experimental study was carried out on a small-scale laboratory model of one span of a twin bundle.

Torsional vibration problems in reciprocating machinery [PDF]
Torsional vibration can be broadly described as the angular vibration of any object as a result of applied torque. Torsional vibration involves the twisting of shafts while the machinery is rotating.

On the Torsional Vibration of Shafting
We have had hard experience of many troubles for torsional vibrations in the shafting of Diesel ship; and as a result of available experiments in recent years, the progress of research works in this section is so great, that we can now calculate the critical speeds for torsional vibrations and manage the problems in the design.

SHAFT LATERAL AND TORSIONAL VIBRATION RESPONSES TO BLADE(S) RANDOM VIBRATION EXCITATION [PDF]
In this study, an experimental set-up for blades-shaft vibration monitoring under blade(s) random vibration excitation is used. The set-up natural frequencies and mode shapes are found using the ANSYS finite element package.

Mode Transition Phenomenon of Herringbone Gear Power-split Transmission System
The mode transition will bring about the dramatical changes of the dynamics characteristics of the herringbone gear power-split transmission system, so the mode transition phenomenon must be analyzed in the process of the transmission system dynamic ...

Damage identification in a concrete beam using curvature difference ratio
Previous studies utilising changes in mode shape or curvature to locate damage rely on the fact that the greatest change occurs around the defect. However, in concrete beams this fact is undermined due to the nature of the defect as distributed multi ...

Modelling of 4WD vehicle driveability during tip-in/tip-out events [PDF]
This paper describes a modelling method to investigate the dynamic behaviour of 4WD vehicle under a severe driving condition, where the driver applies a rapid tip-in on the accelerator pedal in 2nd gear to achieve maximum engine torque.

An improved low‐temperature synthesis enables the first comprehensive structural and spectroscopic characterisation of neutral hexacyanotrimethylenecyclopropane (CN6CP). Combined IR/Raman, UV–Vis and ssNMR analyses reveal a deeper understanding of its oxidation‐state‐dependent charge redistribution, σ‐aromaticity of the cyclopropane core, and redox ...
