Vibrational machining with torsional spindle vibrations
Russian Engineering Research, 2016The use of a pulsed variable-speed drive as a vibrational drive is studied theoretically and experimentally. The design of a transmission with controlled velocity fluctuation is considered.

An improvement in torsional vibration monitors wherein a frequency shift is applied to the torsional vibration signal to achieve improved stability and increased confidence in the measurement. The torsional vibration signal is applied to parallel frequency shifters to produce a lower frequency measuring signal and a lower frequency reference signal ...

Torsional vibration damper assembly
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1980ABSTRACT A torsional vibration damper assembly for use in a torsion coupling or clutch arrangement to provide a low spring rate, high deflection amplitude characteristic. The assembly includes an input means having driving members secured thereto, a hub assembly adapted to be operatively connected to an output means and including a housing containing ...

The disclosure illustrates a tuned viscous torsional vibration damper having a hub member for attachment to an internal combustion engine crankshaft. An annular inertia mass is journaled within the hub member to form a working chamber which contains a viscous liquid to damp out torsional oscillations of the inertia member relative to the hub.

The results of a successful experimental search for Φ − bell modes are reported. Some apparently extraordinary inconsistencies observed between the different components of such modes are explained in terms of small asymmetries of the bell. It is shown that Φ − modes could easily be mistaken for π modes.

Torsional vibration damper unit
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1986A clutch disc as used e.g. in motor vehicle clutches comprises a hub member and a friction lining carrier. The friction lining carrier surrounds the hub member and is mounted thereon for angular movement with respect to the hub member about the axis of rotation of the hub member.

Torsional Vibration and Related Coupled Vibration
2019Torsional vibrations are often problematic in transient responses when a rotor-bearing system starts up. The vibration is more predominant and unavoidable in geared rotor systems. Though torsional vibration poses long-term problems, new methods of rotor design have been established by employing the transfer matrix method, which are capable of ...

Torsional vibration of acrolein
Transactions of the Faraday Society, 1966The sub-bands of the torsional vibration of acrolein have been resolved. The marked degradation indicates a change of about 2.7% in the rotational constant A in the first torsionally excited state. This results in the R branch being much more intense than the P branch.

Torsional Vibration Protection System
Volume 6: Structures and Dynamics, Parts A and B, 2011The increasing use of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and island mode power generation due to remotely located sites make these Oil and Gas industry plants vulnerable to sub-synchronous torsional interactions. These interactions can occur with synchronous generators supplying island-like power systems with large VFDs, but also in synchronous motor ...
