Totally normothermic aortic arch replacement without circulatory arrest

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2003
The authors propose a new strategy of normothermic perfusion for replacement of the aortic arch to avoid the complications of profound hypothermic circulatory arrest. Six patients underwent complete replacement of the aortic arch under normothermia using two pumps for the body (one for the brain and the thoracoabdominal aortic branches) and one for the

[A case of total arch replacement for traumatic aortic arch rupture].

[Zasshi] [Journal]. Nihon Kyobu Geka Gakkai, 1997
We report a case of aortic arch rupture due to blunt chest trauma. A 64-year-old woman was crushed under a wood when she was working. On her arrival to our hospital, she was in shock state due to cardiac tamponade. Her chest roentogenogram showed fracture of her right-sided ribs and mediastinal widening. Her chest CT revealed hematoma around the aortic

Total aortic arch graft replacement for recurrent aortic aneurysm.

The Journal of cardiovascular surgery, 2003
We successfully performed a total aortic arch replacement for a recurrent aortic aneurysm following repair of an aortic dissection. A 59-year-old man underwent a patch aortoplasty through median sternotomy for Stanford type B aortic dissection in other hospital. Three years and 6 months later an aneurysm developed.

Outcomes of Total Aortic Arch Replacement in a Canadian Nationwide Registry

Canadian Journal of Cardiology
Accurate benchmarking of outcomes after elective open total arch replacement is important for surgical decision making and for comparisons with emerging endovascular technologies.A multicentre registry of consecutive aortic arch procedures in 9 centres across Canada contained 250 elective total arch replacements from 2010 to 2021.

Aortic valve-sparing operation at concomitant aortic root and total aortic arch replacement

General Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery
Sparing aortic valve during combined aortic root replacement (ARR) and total aortic arch replacement (TAR) adds surgical complexity; however, the long-term outcomes are unknown. We examine the safety of aortic valve-sparing during these operations. To include patients who were potentially eligible for valve-sparing procedures, aortic stenosis ...

Aortic valve reimplantation combined with total arch replacement in type A aortic dissection

Pirogov Russian Journal of Surgery
We present simultaneous aortic valve reimplantation, replacement of aortic arch, right common carotid artery and proximal parts of the right subclavian and left common carotid arteries in a patient with type I aortic dissection. Involvement of supra-aortic arteries is the main predictor of cerebral malperfusion and mortality in acute aortic dissection.
