Abstract An inexpensive apparatus for total collection of urine from steers was constructed from cotton belting, Lexan, ® Velcro, ® an obstetrical sleeve, and surgical tubing. When attached, it enclosed a 13 by 18-cm oval area over the sheath and penis and was detachable for repeated use.
