EFFECT OF ORPHENADRINE ON TOTAL THYROXINE

Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1974
Abstract. Three clinically euthyroid patients with parkinsonism were found to have raised levels of protein‐bound thyroxine (T4(D)). It was demonstrated that treatment with orphenadrine (Disipal®) caused an elevation of T4(D) up to more than 100%. The increase was dose‐dependent and the underlying mechanism remained unknown.

ON THE NONBOUNDABILITY OF TOTAL EFFECTIVE OPERATORS

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 1984
The boundability of total effective operators by monotone ones is studied. It is shown that in contrast to general recursive operators [cf. \textit{A. Meyer} and \textit{P. Fischer}: On computational speed-up, Conf. Rec. 9th Ann. IEEE Symp. on Switching and Automata Theory, 351-353 (1968)] total effective operators neither can be bounded by total ...

The “July effect” in total shoulder arthroplasty

Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2017
New medical doctors enter their residency fields in July, a time in the hospital in which patient morbidity and mortality rates are perceived to be higher. It remains controversial whether a "July effect" exists in different areas of medicine and surgery, including in orthopedic surgery.

Effects of total pancreatectomy in a patient with diabetes

The American Journal of Medicine, 1946
Abstract Pancreatectomy, the completeness of which was established at autopsy, was performed for carcinoma in a patient who was already diabetic and had chronic diarrhea. The stomach, duodenum, spleen, and left adrenal were also removed. For approximately three months the patient remained in sufficiently good condition to permit metabolic studies ...

Total and absolute total-effective product method

Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 1972
Total and absolute total-effectiveness of some summability methods have been recently studied by the author. In the present paper, we establish these effectiveness of the (C,1)(N, p) method and deduce some of the earlier results as special cases.

Effect of Total Laryngectomy on Esophageal Motility

Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology, 1981
Total laryngectomy for cancer can result in dysphagia and altered esophageal motility. Manometric changes in the upper esophageal sphincter (UES), and in proximal and distal esophageal function have been reported. However, most studies have failed to take into account radiation therapy and appropriate controls. We selected ten male patients (54.3± 1.9

Late Effects of Total Gastrectomy in Man

New England Journal of Medicine, 1947
STUDIES on patients who have survived total gastrectomy for three years or more are few, and contradictory results are reported. For this reason and since total gastrectomy is being practiced with rapidly increasing frequency, we have studied intestinal motor function, intestinal absorption, pancreatic function and the blood picture in 3 patients who ...
