Zinc‐Containing Bioactive Glass Programs Macrophage Polarization through Extracellular Traps Regulation for Enhanced Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc‐containing bioactive glass (ZnBG) promotes diabetic wound healing by regulating macrophage extracellular traps (METs). Specifically, ZnBG reduces oxidative stress and inhibits the PAD4 and NLRP3/caspase‐1/GSDMD signaling pathways, thereby suppressing MET formation.

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

CD207‐Positive Dendritic Cells Promote Emphysema Through CD8+ T Cell Pathway in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD207+ dendritic cells (DCs) drive emphysema by promoting CD8⁺ T cell cytotoxicity via Birbeck granule‐dependent MHC‐I antigen presentation. This DC subset is expanded by cigarette smoke‐induced oxidative stress, which triggers granulocyte‐macrophage colony‐stimulating factor (GM‐CSF) release from airway epithelium.

Recovery after laparoscopic anesthesia: Three different anaesthesia techniques: Recovery after laparoscopic anesthesia [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Anesthesia and Intensive Therapy, 2019
A laparoscopic approach is commonly used for cholecystectomy today. Overall morbidity and mortality after this type of surgery depends on both surgical and anesthetic procedures, primarily from the choice of anesthesia technique and drugs throughout the ...

Circular RNA PTPN4 Contributes to Blood‐Brain Barrier Disruption during Early Epileptogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Epileptic condition induces CircPTPN4 upregulation, which promotes ECE‐1 expression through competitive sequestration of miR‐145a‐5p. The elevated ECE‐1 catalyzes the ET‐1 production, leading to p38/MAPK pathway activation and subsequent downregulation of tight junction protein expression. This cascade results in increased BBB permeability and enhanced

Propofol TIVA vs. inhalational anesthesia for spine surgery: in‑hospital mortality and postoperative complications in a nationwide Korean cohort

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology
Background Given propofol’s antioxidant and anti‑inflammatory properties compared with volatile/inhalational agents, we aimed to evaluate the association between anesthetic technique and both in‑hospital mortality and postoperative complications ...

Annexin A13 Protects Against Acute Kidney Injury by Inactivating TGF‐β/Smad3 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ANXA13 is negatively regulated by Smad3 and exerts its protective role in AKI by inactivating TGF‐β/Smad3 signaling and Smad3‐p21 cell cycle arrest pathway through binding to TβRI, inhibiting the interaction between TβRI and TβRII, thereby suppressing TβRI phosporylation.
