Total Variation Superiorized Conjugate Gradient Method for Image Reconstruction

open access: yes, 2017
The conjugate gradient (CG) method is commonly used for the rapid solution of least squares problems. In image reconstruction, the problem can be ill-posed and also contaminated by noise; due to this, approaches such as regularization should be utilized.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The efficiency factorization multiplier for the Watson efficiency in partitioned linear models: some examples and a literature review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We consider partitioned linear models where the model matrix X = (X1 : X2) has full column rank, and concentrate on the special case whereX0 1X2 = 0 when we say that the model is orthogonally partitioned.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

The Improvement Based on the DV-Hop Localization Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2018
As the problems of lower localization accuracy appeared in the traditional DV-Hop algorithm, the author analyzed three main factors that influence the localization accuracy of original DV-Hop algorithm which started from the calculation of the average ...

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Identification of the Fractional-Order Systems: A Frequency Domain Approach [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2011
The paper deals with a comparison of different optimization methods to identification of fractional order dynamical systems. The fractional models of the examples of physical systems - ultracapacitors - are established.
