Predicting Average Feed Intake of Lactating Holstein Cows Fed Totally Mixed Rations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2003
A dry matter intake (DMI) prediction equation was estimated by using a data file that contained 124 treatment means collected from published studies. Animal factors considered for inclusion in the prediction model were body weight (BW) and its natural logarithm, BW(0.75), milk yield (MY) and its natural logarithm, milk fat and protein yields, month of ...

Halorotetin B, A Novel Terpenoid Compound Derived from Marine Ascidian, Suppresses Tumor Growth by Targeting the Cell Cycle Regulator UBE2C

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Halorotetin B, a novel small‐molecule terpenoid identified from an edible marine ascidian, exhibits strong anti‐tumor activity both in vitro and in vivo through direct targeting UBE2C to induce tumor cell cycle arrest and then lead tumor cell senescence. As a newly discovered UBE2C inhibitor, Halorotetin B can serve as a novel potential cell senescence

Mixing Beef Feed Rations Containing Distillers Wet Grains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The flexibility of distillers grains has made it a major substitute for corn in beef feed rations. However, producers are having issues with feeding wet distillers grains.

A CLE11b‐CLE16 Signaling Relay Mediates Root‐Shoot‐Root Crosstalk for Drought Adaptation in Common Bean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel root‐shoot‐root signaling relay, mediated by CLE peptides, coordinates drought adaptation in common bean. Root‐derived PvCLE11b translocates acropetally to leaves, inducing PvCLE16 expression via PvTCP10. Leaf‐accumulated PvCLE16 triggers stomatal closure and translocates basipetally to modulate root architecture.

Climate‐Smart Dairy Practices: The Role of Practice Clusters in Enhancing the Performance of Dairy Farms in Kenya

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate variability is affecting the productivity, profitability, and resilience of smallholder dairy producers in developing countries. The adoption of climate‐smart (CS) dairy practices has been promoted to mitigate these negative effects. However, while interest in dairy CS practices is growing, empirical evidence on their adoption patterns

Video and Text‐Based Supplemental Health Information and Consumer Willingness to Pay for Nutrient‐Enhanced Eggs

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nutritional information is very important in the food choices of consumers. However, when they are too scientific or technical, they have the potential to confuse consumers, resulting in information asymmetry and dissuading them from making beneficial choices.

Prediction of quality of total mixed ration for dairy cows by near infrared reflectance spectroscopy and empirical equations

open access: yesJournal of Applied Animal Research, 2022
This study aimed to evaluate the predictive ability of NIRS for the estimation of the chemical composition and organic matter digestibility (OMD) of total mixed rations (TMR) for dairy cows.

Effect of Cellulase Enzyme Produced from Penicilliumchrysogenum on the Milk Production, Composition, Amino Acid, and Fatty Acid Profiles of Egyptian Buffaloes Fed a High-Forage Diet

open access: yesAnimals, 2021
The experiment was conducted to study the effects of supplementing a cellulase enzymes cocktail to lactating buffaloes’ diet, on the nutrient intake, nutrient digestibility, and milk production performance and composition.

Inter‐microscope comparability of dental microwear texture data obtained from different optical profilometers: Part II Deriving instrument‐specific correction equations for meta‐analyses using published data

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) has emerged as a valuable method for investigating the feeding ecology of vertebrates. Over the past decade, three‐dimensional topographic data from microscopic regions of tooth surfaces have been collected, and surface texture parameters have been published for both extant and fossil species.

Luzernesilage in einer Total-Misch-Ration für die ökologische Mastschweinefütterung – Ergebnisse eines Praxisversuches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A "total mixed ration" (TMR) consisting of chopped alfalfa silage (34%, starter phase and 53%, finishing phase) was tested in pigs. Group “A” (control) was fed with a complete feed mixture, group “B” with the TMR and group “C” with moistened TMR.
