Exploring Symptom Domains of Postoperative Bowel Dysfunction by Integrating LARS and Wexner Scores: A Longitudinal Factor‐Analytic Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Item‐level factor analysis of the LARS and Wexner scores in 320 patients undergoing sphincter‐preserving rectal resection identified three distinct symptom domains: incontinence, urgency/clustering, and gas control. These domains had different clinical determinants: radiotherapy was associated with greater severity of both incontinence and urgency ...

Clinical Implementation and Perioperative Outcomes of Robot‐Assisted Pelvic Exenteration for Primary Rectal Cancer: A Multicenter Japanese Experience

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Robot‐assisted pelvic exenteration (RPE) was performed with acceptable perioperative outcomes in selected patients with primary rectal cancer. It may serve as a complementary approach at institutions with sufficient experience in PE, whereas open surgery remains essential for extensive or technically demanding disease.

Zebrafish xenograft models as a fast platform for metastasis diagnosis and cisplatin response of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
A zebrafish xenograft model accurately distinguishes metastatic from non‐metastatic HNSCC and recapitulates cisplatin sensitivity/resistance patterns. Using patient‐derived tumors, it predicts individual therapeutic responses, offering a rapid, clinically applicable platform for guiding personalized treatment. Abstract Background Head and neck squamous

Nanomedicine‐driven innovations in postoperative cancer immunotherapy: Remodeling tumor microenvironment and precision delivery strategies

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Nanomedicine‐Driven Strategies for Suppressing Postoperative Tumor Recurrence. This schematic illustrates three pivotal nanomedical strategies that synergistically counteract recurrence by targeting residual disease and the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment within the surgical cavity.

Vine copula knockoffs for variable selection in gene expression studies

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Identifying clinical and genetic markers is essential for stratifying cancer patients by survival outcomes and guiding personalized treatment strategies. However, gene expression studies often involve high‐dimensional predictors with mixed data types and complex dependence, which complicates reliable variable selection.

A WGCNA‐Based Approach to Identify Hub Genes Associated With TNM Staging in Urothelial Bladder Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Nexus, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, we identified gene modules and representative candidate biomarkers linked to clinical progression in patients with UBC. Weighted gene co‐expression network analysis (WGCNA) was used to identify gene modules associated with TNM staging in UBC patients.
