Prediction of effluent total nitrogen and energy consumption in wastewater treatment plants: Bayesian optimization machine learning methods.

Bioresource Technology
The control of effluent total nitrogen (TN) and total energy consumption (TEC) is a key issue in managing wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). In this study, effluent TN and TEC predictive models were established by selecting influent water quality and ...

Floating aquatic plants for total nitrogen and phosphorus removal from treated swine wastewater and their biomass characteristics.

Journal of Environmental Management, 2019
In this study, the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus from the effluent of treated swine wastewater by Eichhornia crassipes, Pistia stratiotes, Limnobium laevigatum, and Lemna sp. was investigated.

Total soil nitrogen and nitrogen mineralization

Plant and Soil, 1970
The mineralization capacity of 24 different soils was determined from incubation experiments. Relatively rapid mineralization and nitrification was found with soils from cultivated land, and pastures, but soils under natural vegetative covers of conifers and hardwoods were mostly ammonifying.

Total nitrogen in iron meteorites

Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 1981
Total nitrogen contents have been measured by RNA of 30 iron and 4 stony-iron meteorites. Wide variations in N concentrations are noted (0.5 ppm to about 200 ppm). As a group, the IA irons have the highest nitrogen. This element is positively correlated with C, Ga, and Ge. Samples of meteorites that have been exposed to shock do not show any abnormal N

Vertical flow constructed wetlands for decentralized wastewater treatment in Jordan: Optimization of total nitrogen removal.

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
The baseline performance of two full-scale vertical flow (VF) constructed wetlands operating in the arid climate of Jordan is presented in this study, within the context of the Jordanian Standards for reuse of treated wastewater.

Nitrogen deposition and decreased precipitation does not change total nitrogen uptake in a temperate forest.

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
Decreased precipitation and increased anthropogenical by derived nitrogen (N) are important climate change factors that alter the availability of soil water and N which are crucial to root function and morphological traits.

The total biomass nitrogen reservoir and its potential of replacing chemical fertilizers in China

, 2021
Biomass resources originally produced by photosynthesis and their biodegradable derivatives such as crop straw, vegetable waste, livestock and poultry manure, etc., can be used as organic fertilizers which have huge potentials in replacing chemical ones.

Total Body Nitrogen in Prepubertal Children

1993
The accurate measurement of body protein content in normal children has the potential to produce very useful information. Firstly, the relationship between body protein and growth (not only of height and weight, but also of body compartment sizes) could be investigated, thus providing insights into the normal physiology of growth in children. Secondly,

Total organic carbon and total nitrogen removal and simultaneous electricity generation for nitrogen-containing wastewater based on the catalytic reactions of hydroxyl and chlorine radicals

Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2018
The treatment of nitrogen-containing organic wastewater is a difficult problem because organic and nitrogen contents are hard to remove simultaneously for the common sewage disposal technologies.

On the importance of quantifying bioavailable nitrogen instead of total nitrogen

Biogeochemistry, 2013
Monitored and modeled data provided the basis for the establishment of two nitrogen (N) budgets covering the Kattegat-Belt Sea area in the period 2000–2009: one for total nitrogen (TN) and one for bioavailable nitrogen (Nbio). Our results show a significant difference between the two budgets, and we argue that Nbio is more important than TN for our ...
