Double Bruhat Cells And Total Positivity

open access: yes, 1998
This paper continues algebraic study of total positivity in semisimple algebraic groups undertaken in [3, 4]. The classical theory of total positivity studies matrices whose all minors are nonnegative. Recently, G.

Total positivity criteria for partial flag varieties

open access: yes, 2011
For a simply-connected complex algebraic group G of type A, D, or E, we prove (see C. Geiss et al. (2008) [12], Conjecture 19.2) a new family of total positivity criteria for partial flag varieties G/P, where P is a parabolic subgroup of ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Coefficientwise Total Positivity of Some Matrices Defined by Linear Recurrences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We exhibit a lower-triangular matrix of polynomials T(a,c,d,e,f,g) in~six indeterminates that appears empirically to be coefficientwise totally positive, and which includes as a special case the Eulerian triangle.

Total positivity in the De Concini-Procesi compactification

open access: yes, 2004
We study the nonnegative part G >0 of the De Concini-Procesi compactification of a semisimple algebraic group G, as defined by Lusztig. Using positivity properties of the canonical basis and parametrization of flag varieties, we will give an explicit ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

On total positivity of Riordan arrays

open access: yes, 2020
A Riordan array = ( ( ), ( )) is defined as an infinite lower triangular matrix whose generating function of the kth column is ( ) ( ) , where and are formal power series with (0)=1, (0)=0, and ′(0) ≠ 0.

Regulators and total positivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The classical regulator R of a number field K is given [F1] by a rapidly convergent series of the form where w is the number of roots of unity in K, D is the discriminant of K, am counts certain integral ideals in K of absolute norm m, and g : (0, ∞) → R ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
