Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Collapse Mechanism of Transmission Tower Subjected to Strong Wind Load and Dynamic Response of Tower-Line System

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Transmission towers are prone to collapse under strong wind load, resulting in significant economic losses. In order to investigate the collapse mechanism and failure modes of the transmission tower under strong wind load and whether the wind vibration ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Study on the Multi-Hazard Responses of Transmission Tower-Line Systems Under Fire and Wind Loads Using ABAQUS

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Transmission lines are usually located outdoors and are subjected to wind loads year-round. When a fire occurs, transmission towers are exposed to the combined effects of fire and wind loads. This paper investigates the impact of high temperatures on the

Lightning Current Measurement Form and Arrangement Scheme of Transmission Line Based on Point-Type Optical Current Transducer

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Lightning strikes are the main cause of transmission line faults, and the accurate lightning current number is an important basis to guide scientific lightning protection.

Effects of bolt slippage on the wind induced responses of transmission tower line system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The wind induced responses of transmission tower line system are studied by finite element method. Firstly, a slip model considering eccentricity and bolt joint slippage in diagonal bracings, tower legs and tower head is built by ANSYS.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
