Evolution of fruit and seed traits during almond naturalization
Almond naturalization is consistent with strong directional selection on fruits and seeds, leading to smaller and more toxic seeds encased in harder endocarps. Accordingly, we propose that feralization of this crop is, at least to some degree, driven by adaptive evolution of dispersal and recruitment traits.

Frogs have evolved terrestrial eggs many times, offering an excellent opportunity to assess traits that may facilitate aquatic‐to‐terrestrial transitions. Our results suggest the importance of physiological adaptations and physiological plasticity during early life stages, specifically the early onset of urea excretion, its upregulation under dry ...

Topical tranexamic acid reduces bleeding from surgical wounds, but little is known about possible adverse effects on the exposed tissue. In this experimental study, prolonged in vitro exposure was cytotoxic to keratinocytes and fibroblasts, and prevented wound re‐epithelialization in a dose‐dependent manner, whereas short exposure was well tolerated ...
