Abstract The potent mouse skin tumour promoter, 12-O-tetra-decanoyl phorbol-13-acetate (TPA), causes a release of arachidonic acid and prostaglandins E2 and F2α from Friend erythroleukemia cells (FELC). This effect is not seen with a subclone which is resistant to both TPA-induced inhibition of differentiation and TPA-induced adhesion.
