The selenoenzyme type I iodothyronine deiodinase: a new tumor suppressor in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 18, Issue 9, Page 2298-2313, September 2024.
The selenoenzyme deiodinase type 1 (DIO1) has anti‐tumor actions in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Reduced levels of DIO1 in HGSOC cells and human tissues facilitate proliferation and may promote tumorigenesis in this aggressive disease. The selenoenzyme type I iodothyronine deiodinase (DIO1) catalyzes removal of iodine atoms from thyroid hormones ...

Optimization of ultracentrifugation‐based method to enhance the purity and proteomic profiling depth of plasma‐derived extracellular vesicles and particles

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 3, Issue 7, July 2024.
Abstract Circulating extracellular vesicles and particles (EVPs) are being investigated as potential biomarkers for early cancer detection, prognosis, and disease monitoring. However, the suboptimal purity of EVPs isolated from peripheral blood plasma has posed a challenge of in‐depth analysis of the EVP proteome. Here, we compared the effectiveness of

tumor marker protein

open access: yes, 2023

HB‐EGF‐loaded nanovesicles enhance trophectodermal spheroid attachment and invasion

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 24, Issue 11, June 2024.
Abstract The ability of trophectodermal cells (outer layer of the embryo) to attach to the endometrial cells and subsequently invade the underlying matrix are critical stages of embryo implantation during successful pregnancy establishment. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been implicated in embryo‐maternal crosstalk, capable of reprogramming ...

Analysis of 206 whole‐genome resequencing reveals selection signatures associated with breed‐specific traits in Hu sheep

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 17, Issue 6, June 2024.
Abstract As an invaluable Chinese sheep germplasm resource, Hu sheep are renowned for their high fertility and beautiful wavy lambskins. Their distinctive characteristics have evolved over time through a combination of artificial and natural selection. Identifying selection signatures in Hu sheep can provide a straightforward insight into the mechanism

Molecular Insights into the Breast and Prostate Cancer Cells in Response to the Change of Extracellular Zinc

open access: yesJournal of Oncology, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Zinc dyshomeostasis is manifested in breast and prostate cancer cells. This study attempted to uncover the molecular details prodded by the change of extracellular zinc by employing a panel of normal and cancerous breast and prostate cell lines coupled with the top‐down proteomics with two‐dimensional gel electrophoresis followed by liquid ...

Role of TPD52L2 in cell migration and triple-negative breast cancer progression

open access: yes, 2023
The TPD52 family comprises four related proteins: TPD52, TPD53, TPD54, and TPD55 (also known as respectively as TPD52L1, TPD52L2, and TPD52L3) (1). They share similar features, such as a molecular weight of 22.2 kDa with 206 amino acids, and their C-terminal regions show high conservation.

Abstract 1990: Exploratory analysis of the usefulness of the top-scoring pairs (TSP) of genes for prediction of prostate cancer progression

open access: yes, 2010
Predicting prostate cancer progression after radical prostatectomy is most challenging. Gene expression profiling is widely used to identify genes associated with cancer progression.
