Trace Construction of a Basis for the Solution Space of sl_N qKZ Equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The trace of intertwining operators over the level one irreducible highest weight modules of the quantum affine algebra of type A_{N-1} is studied. It is proved that the trace function gives a basis of the solution space of the qKZ equation at a generic level. The highest-highest matrix element of the composition of intertwining operators is explicitly

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...

On the number of $N$-free elements with prescribed trace [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we derive a formula for the number of $N$-free elements over a finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$ with prescribed trace, in particular trace zero, in terms of Gaussian periods.

Insight into the Causal Relationship between Gut Microbiota and Back Pain: A Two Sample Bidirectional Mendelian Randomization Study

open access: yesAdvanced Genetics, 2023
Observational studies have shown that alterations in gut microbiota composition are associated with low back pain. However, it remains unclear whether the association is causal. To reveal the causal association between gut microbiota and low back pain, a

Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Investigation of the Uniformity of Gel Shrinkage by Imaging Tracer Particles Using X‐Ray Microtomography

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView., 2023
A novel method for tracking structural changes in gels using widely accessible microcomputed tomography is presented and validated for various hydro‐, alco‐, and aerogels. The core idea of the method is to track positions of micrometer‐sized tracer particles entrapped in the gel and relate them to the density of the gel network.

Dual Role of Metallic Trace Elements in Stress Biology—From Negative to Beneficial Impact on Plants

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
Heavy metals are an interesting group of trace elements (TEs). Some of them are minutely required for normal plant growth and development, while others have unknown biological actions.

The Trace Field Theory of a Finite Tensor Category [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Given a finite tensor category $\mathcal{C}$, we prove that a modified trace on the tensor ideal of projective objects can be obtained from a suitable trivialization of the Nakayama functor as right $\mathcal{C}$-module functor. Using a result of Costello, this allows us to associate to any finite tensor category equipped with such a trivialization of ...

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...
