COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

HCN versus HCO+ as dense molecular gas mass tracer in Luminous Infrared Galaxies [PDF]
It has been recently argued that the HCN J=1--0 line emission may not be an unbiased tracer of dense molecular gas ($\rm n\ga 10^4 cm^{-3}$) in Luminous Infrared Galaxies (LIRGs: $\rm L_{FIR}> 10^{11} L_{\odot}$) and HCO$^+$ J=1--0 may constitute a ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Turbulent Mixing in the Interstellar Medium -- an application for Lagrangian Tracer Particles
We use 3-dimensional numerical simulations of self-gravitating compressible turbulent gas in combination with Lagrangian tracer particles to investigate the mixing process of molecular hydrogen (H2) in interstellar clouds.

Heat as a proxy to image dynamic processes with 4D electrical resistivity tomography [PDF]
Since salt cannot always be used as a geophysical tracer (because it may pollute the aquifer with the mass that is necessary to induce a geophysical contrast), and since in many contaminated aquifer salts (e.g., chloride) already constitute the main ...

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Social image concerns promote cooperation more than altruistic punishment
Cooperation requires individuals to sacrifice individual rewards for group benefits. Here, Grimalda, Pondorfer and Tracer show in a foraging society of Papua New Guinea that social image building is a more powerful motivator of social cooperation than ...

Modelling seasonal changes of longitudinal dispersion at the Okna River
Aim of the study: This study presents an opportunity to determine a value of longitudinal dispersion and is focused on the comparison of seasonal variation of the longitudinal dispersion predetermined by natural conditions of the river aquatic zone ...
