Tracheal growth in congenital tracheal stenosis
Pediatric Radiology, 1996Two cases of congenital tracheal stenosis were managed conservatively despite mild to moderate initial respiratory symptomatology in infancy. Serial CT examinations were performed on each child, with tracheal dimensions and cross-sectional areas measured in the region of stenosis at each CT examination.

Tracheal chondrosarcomas are rare, with only 14 cases previously documented. We report a case of chondrosarcoma of the trachea and review other published cases. Our patient was a 34-year-old man who began to feel shortness of breath 8 months after initial hemoptysis.

Tracheal agenesis is a rare congenital anomaly. We report a case and review the cases previously reported. Clinical features that might indicate tracheal agenesis include antenatal polyhydramnios, severe respiratory distress, absence of an audible cry, failure to advance an endotracheal tube beyond the larynx, a palpable distal trachea, clinical ...

We present the findings in a man with longstanding airway obstruction attributed to chronic obstructive bronchopulmonary disease. After hospitalization, a tracheal hamartoma was found and resected, without complications. Symptoms of chronic airway obstruction can cause the physician to treat medically a surgically curable lesion.

Tracheal bronchus is an aberrant bronchus that arises most often from the right tracheal wall above the carina and is the result of an additional tracheal outgrowth early in embryonic life. Its incidence ranges between 0.1 and 5%. This anomaly usually is diagnosed incidentally during bronchoscopy or bronchography performed for various respiratory ...
