dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

One of the most basic building blocks for the understanding of human actions and interactions is the accurate detection and tracking of persons in a scene. In constrained scenarios involving at most one subject, or in situations where persons can be confined to a controlled monitoring space or required to wear markers, sensors, or microphones, these ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

On train track splitting sequences
We show that the subsurface projection of a train track splitting sequence is an unparameterized quasi-geodesic in the curve complex of the subsurface. For the proof we introduce induced tracks, efficient position, and wide curves.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Graphania mutans (Walker) and Acremonium lolii (Latch) : the relationship between an insect herbivore and a fungal endophyte of perennial ryegrass : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Zoology at Massey University [PDF]
In examining the relationship between Graphania mutans (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) and perennial ryegrass infected with the fungal endophyte Acremonium lolii (Latch in press), the biology of G. mutans was investigated.

Generating Compact Geometric Track-Maps for Train Positioning Applications
In this paper, we present a method to generate compact geometric track-maps for train-borne localization applications. Therefore, we first give a brief overview on the purpose of track maps in train-positioning applications.

Research on wheel/rail coupled vibration of metro cars
The wheel/rail coupled vibration modal is an inherent property of the wheel/rail system, and mastering the coupling vibration characteristics between wheel and rail is inevitable and practical to reduce wheel out of round wear and rail corrugation.
