Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

On the effective number of tracked trajectories in normal human vision

Z. W. Pylyshyn and R. W. Storm (1988) have shown that human observers can accurately track four to five items at a time. However, when a threshold paradigm is used, observers are unable to track more than a single trajectory accurately (S. P. Tripathy & B. T. Barrett, 2004).

Local Similarity Number and its Application to Object Tracking

In this paper, we present a tracking technique utilizing a simple saliency visual descriptor. Initially, we define a visual descriptor named local similarity pattern that mimics the famous texture operator local binary patterns. The key difference is that it assigns each pixel a code based on the similarity to the neighbouring pixels.
