Retracted: Influence of Track Support Stiffness of Railway Tracks on Track Impact Factor

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 2014
AbstractTrack support stiffness (TSS) is used as a quality index of railway tracks to assess their performance and bearing capacity. TSS depends on the elastic stiffness of the elastic materials and the structural characteristics of the track system. The theoretically designed track impact factor (TIF), which is used to design ballasted and slab tracks

Influence of Track Support Stiffness of Ballasted Track on Dynamic Wheel-Rail Forces

Journal of Transportation Engineering, 2013
AbstractDynamic wheel-rail force can be limited to high-frequency components owing to imperfections in the wheel-rail contact surface (P1) and may also contain low-frequency components owing to coupled wheel-rail vibrations in phase on the ballast (P2). Previous studies on dynamic wheel-rail forces have focused on the quality index of surface roughness

The role of vehicle dynamics in train-induced ground vibrations and the detection of irregular axle-pulse responses due to a varying track support stiffness

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part F: Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit, 2022
Train-induced ground vibrations are all generated by the vehicle, by static or dynamic vehicle loads. The most important and most accepted excitation are the dynamic wheel loads from the passage over track irregularities. Dynamic wheel loads will be compared from parallel axle-box and ground vibration measurements at more than seven sites.

Static Response of Rail Track supported by Linear and Non-Linear Stiffness

Communications on Applied Nonlinear Analysis
Introduction: The railway system can be viewed as a collection of structural components, each with distinct mechanical properties. These components are defined by their strength, stiffness, natural and forced frequency response function, which is influenced by their mass and elastic characteristics.
