Facial Feature Tracking and Occlusion Recovery in American Sign Language [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Facial features play an important role in expressing grammatical information in signed languages, including American Sign Language(ASL). Gestures such as raising or furrowing the eyebrows are key indicators of constructions such as yes-no questions ...

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

Radar Constant-Modulus Waveform Design with Prior Information of the Extended Target and Clutter

open access: yesSensors, 2016
Radar waveform design is of great importance for radar system performances and has drawn considerable attention recently. Constant modulus is an important waveform design consideration, both from the point of view of hardware realization and to allow for

Exemplar-based Linear Discriminant Analysis for Robust Object Tracking

open access: yes, 2014
Tracking-by-detection has become an attractive tracking technique, which treats tracking as a category detection problem. However, the task in tracking is to search for a specific object, rather than an object category as in detection.

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Design and Performance Analysis of BDS-3 Integrity Concept

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Compared to the BeiDou regional navigation satellite system (BDS-2), the BeiDou global navigation satellite system (BDS-3) carried out a brand new integrity concept design and construction work, which defines and achieves the integrity functions for ...

Global Correlation Network: End-to-End Joint Multi-Object Detection and Tracking [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Multi-object tracking (MOT) has made great progress in recent years, but there are still some problems. Most MOT algorithms follow tracking-by-detection framework, which separates detection and tracking into two independent parts. Early tracking-by-detection algorithms need to do two feature extractions for detection and tracking.

Time, the final frontier

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This article advocates integrating temporal dynamics into cancer research. Rather than relying on static snapshots, researchers should increasingly consider adopting dynamic methods—such as live imaging, temporal omics, and liquid biopsies—to track how tumors evolve over time.

RLita: A Region-Level Image–Text Alignment Method for Remote Sensing Foundation Model

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The foundation model fine-tuning optimization method has gradually become a research hotspot due to the development of generative pretrained transformer. However, compared to natural scene images, remote sensing images have a wide range of spatial scales,
