Path-following or reference tracking?

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2004
Abstract In path-following the control objective is to force the output to follow a geometric path without a timing law assigned to it. We highlight a fundamental difference between the path-following and the standard reference-tracking by demonstrating that performance limitation due to unstable zero-dynamics can be removed in the path-following ...

Autonomous ground vehicle path tracking

Journal of Robotic Systems, 2004
AbstractAutonomous ground vehicle navigation requires the integration of many technologies such as path planning, position and orientation sensing, vehicle control, and obstacle avoidance. The work presented here focuses on the control of a nonholonomic ground vehicle as it tracks a given path.

Visual generalized predictive path tracking

AMC'98 - Coimbra. 1998 5th International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control. Proceedings (Cat. No.98TH8354), 2002
This paper describes a path-tracking method which allows the real-time control of an autonomous vehicle. A generalized predictive control approach is used to keep the vehicle on a trajectory defined by a moving target, detected and tracked through image processing.

Close tracking of equilibrium paths

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2018
SummaryA method to control a generic system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations between equilibrium states is analyzed. The objective is to ensure that the system's state space trajectory closely tracks an equilibrium path. The control law is obtained via time parameterization of the corresponding equilibrium control path.

Consumer Search: Evidence from Path-tracking Data [PDF]

open access: possible, 2014
We estimate the effect of consumer search on the price of the purchased product in a physical store environment. We implement the analysis using a unique data set obtained from radio frequency identification tags, which are attached to supermarket shopping carts. This technology allows us to record consumers' purchases as well as the time they spent in
