Research on Low-Frequency Swaying Mechanism of Metro Vehicles Based on Wheel-Rail Relationship

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
For the worn state of the wheel, metro vehicles often suffer a serious carbody swaying issue, which causes the lateral stability of the vehicle to exceed the limit and affects the ride comfort.

Application of traction drives as servo mechanisms [PDF]

open access: yes
The suitability of traction drives for a wide class of aerospace control mechanisms is examined. Potential applications include antenna or solar array drive positioners, robotic joints, control moment gyro (CMG) actuators and propeller pitch change ...

Controlling cell-matrix traction forces by extracellular geometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present a minimal continuum model of strongly adhering cells as active contractile isotropic media and use the model to study the effect of the geometry of the adhesion patch in controlling the spatial distribution of traction and cellular stresses ...

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

Research on Pantograph-Catenary Dynamics Characteristics in Mixed Double Pantographs Formation of Different Types

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] Due to the influence of the leading pantograph in double pantographs operation, the current collection performance of the trailing pantograph often degrades.

Crashworthiness analysis of the structure of metro vehicles constructed from typical materials and the lumped parameter model of frontal impact

open access: yesTransport, 2019
This paper establishes a Finite Element (FE) model of a rigid barrier impact of a single vehicle constructed from carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum alloy, which are three typical materials used in metro vehicle car body structures.

Complex driver movement mathematical model of the tractive rolling stock [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The paper developed a complex mathematical model of the rolling stock movement that takes into account the parallel operation of two real traction asynchronous engines of the first traction railway carriage and one equivalent engine of the second ...

Understanding crack versus cavitation in pressure-sensitive adhesives: the role of kinetics

open access: yes, 2006
We perform traction experiments on viscous liquids highly confined between parallel plates, a geometry known as the probe-tack test in the adhesion community.
