Research on harmonic characteristics of traction transformers and traction converters

2015 IEEE 6th International Symposium on Microwave, Antenna, Propagation, and EMC Technologies (MAPE), 2015
Harmonics of traction system could affect the normal operation of the track circuit in high speed railway. In order to understand the harmonic fully and to reduce the harm from harmonic, this paper analyzes the harmonic characteristics of the traction transformers and traction converters separately in theory.

Feedforward control of interleaved traction converter

2016 Biennial International Conference on Power and Energy Systems: Towards Sustainable Energy (PESTSE), 2016
Recent trends in Rail traction industry requires high power density equipment to be mounted on the locomotives to cater to the increasing demands both for goods traffic and passenger traffic in India. At the same time, Harmonics generated by the locomotives on to the overhead line should be mitigated to increase the reliability of the safety equipment ...

Converters based on IGCTs in light traction drives

IEEE 2002 28th Annual Conference of the Industrial Electronics Society. IECON 02, 2003
So far, the integrated gate-commutated thyristor (IGCT) has always been considered as a device suitable for converters controlling the power of the order of megawatts or higher. This paper shows how the advantages of the device can be used in a DC chopper and in an inverter designed to feed the traction motors of a trolleybus.
