Research on harmonic characteristics of traction transformers and traction converters
2015 IEEE 6th International Symposium on Microwave, Antenna, Propagation, and EMC Technologies (MAPE), 2015Harmonics of traction system could affect the normal operation of the track circuit in high speed railway. In order to understand the harmonic fully and to reduce the harm from harmonic, this paper analyzes the harmonic characteristics of the traction transformers and traction converters separately in theory.

Construction on traction converter system of EMU

The system consists of a transformer, a rectifier, an inverter and an induction motor. The rectifier is controlled by the transient current control theory with SPWM technology.

Converters based on IGCTs in light traction drives

IECON 02, 2003So far, the integrated gate-commutated thyristor (IGCT) has always been considered as a device suitable for converters controlling the power of the order of megawatts or higher.
