Multiphase hybrid traction drives for electrical vehicles
2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2014The prospects for the use of multiphase (i.e. having the number of phases more than four) asynchronous linear and non-linear drives in the field of vehicles were presented and described in a number of papers. However the increase of the phase number of asynchronous electric drive system allows not only to improve a number of its technical-and-economic ...

Characterization of electric motor drives for traction applications
IECON'03. 29th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37468), 2004The ideal characteristics of an electric motor drive for traction application in an electric and hybrid electric vehicle are high torque at low speed region for fast acceleration, hill climbing and obstacle negotiation, and low torque at high speed for normal driving.

ADHESION-RECOVERY CONTROL FOR ELECTRICAL TRACTION DRIVES
1999The Vectorial Torque Control algorithm is applied in order to impose the re-adhesion trajectory in an induction motor drive for traction purposes. It allows to achieve a very strong anti-skidding action assuring, at the same time, low stress for the mechanical parts.
