INAA applied to Tradescantia pallida plant study for environmental pollution monitoring
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, 2003In this study, INAA was applied to analyse T. pallida plant in order to establish an adequate protocol for its sampling and treatment and so that it can be used for further environmental biomonitoring. Concentrations of most elements obtained in leaves, stems and flowers plus peduncles separately were found to have the same magnitude.

Mutagenic Action of Sugarcane Vinasse in the Tradescantia Pallida Test System
Journal of Ecosystem & Ecography, 2014The soil is a very complex and dynamic system and its contamination has become one of the main environmental concerns. Sugar-ethanol mills, for example, have a high hazard potential, mainly soil contamination, due to the production of different residues.

Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association, 2003
Tradescantia pallida cv. purpurea, a plant species widely employed for ornamentation in Brazil, has been successfully used for monitoring the genotoxicity of various agents by the micronucleus assay. To amplify knowledge about its suitability as a bioindicator species, its capacity for accumulating trace elements from urban air pollution was evaluated.
