An investigation of the sustainability of old traditional mosque architecture: case study of three mosques in Gayo Highland, Aceh, Indonesia

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, 2023
The existing traditional architecture has a sustainable design that is adaptive to the environment. Old mosque is one of the traditional architectures that has withstood the test of time due to its adaptations to the environment.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Sustainable Designs between Traditional & Contemporary Architecture [PDF]

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Science and Engineering, 2020
Research discusses the importance of sustainable designs and how to achieve them, not only as a new concept in contemporary architecture, but as an extension of technologies and thoughts related to traditional architecture and identity, where the elements of sustainable, spontaneous and implicit design have been integrated with the underlying ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Image Restoration using Total Variation Regularized Deep Image Prior

open access: yes, 2018
In the past decade, sparsity-driven regularization has led to significant improvements in image reconstruction. Traditional regularizers, such as total variation (TV), rely on analytical models of sparsity.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.
