Nanodiamond Quantum Sensors for Probing Free Radical Biology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Free radicals play key roles in cellular signaling and disease but remain difficult to measure in living systems. Nanodiamonds (NDs) with nitrogen‐vacancy (NV) centers enable quantum sensing of local magnetic noise via T₁ relaxometry, providing nondestructive radical detection in living cells.

Model Development of U-turn Capacity Using Simulation and Empirical Approaches

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2008
In this study, both empirical and simulation approaches were used to estimate capacity of U-turn movement at median openings of divided arterials. The empirical approach using regression analysis was adopted to estimate the best form of the predictive ...

Early Experiences in Traffic Engineering Exploiting Path Diversity: A Practical Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Recent literature has proved that stable dynamic routing algorithms have solid theoretical foundation that makes them suitable to be implemented in a real protocol, and used in practice in many different operational network contexts.

Elucidating the Role of Surface Ligands on the Oxidative Etching of Au Bipyramids During Photothermia Using Liquid Cell Transmission Electron Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gold bipyramids can act as efficient plasmonic nanoheaters, but they often reshape during laser heating. This study shows that oxygen nanobubbles drive oxidative etching and that surface ligands control stability. CTAB‐ and citrate‐coated particles blunt and lose optical performance, whereas polystyrene sulfonate preserves shape and heating by ...

Spatiotemporal Demand Prediction for Bike Sharing Based on WT-ConvLSTM

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
To accurately predict the spatiotemporal demand for bike sharing, a hybrid model integrating wavelet transform (WT), long short-term memory (LSTM), and convolutional neural network (CNN) was developed, referred to as the WT-convolutional LSTM (ConvLSTM ...

Dual‐Peptide Nanoplatform: Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles Functionalized With a Cell‐Penetrating Peptide and Loaded With Rationally Designed Antimicrobial Peptides for Tuberculosis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning–guided engineering of a plectasin‐derived peptide yields DC05, a potent antimycobacterial candidate. Encapsulation into tuftsin‐functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles enhances intracellular delivery, stability, and activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis while maintaining low cytotoxicity and minimal hemolysis. The combined

Engineering Extracellular Vesicle Production Through Magnetic Ion Channel Activation for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic Ion Channel Activation (MICA) enables remote stimulation of mechanosensitive ion channels using functionalised magnetic nanoparticles, enhancing extracellular vesicle (EV) biogenesis is pre‐osteoblasts. MICA desrived EVs exhibit typical nano‐vesicular characteristics but display superior pro‐osteogeneic activity, promoting mesenchymal stem ...
