Traffic Engineering With Three-Segments Routing

IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, 2020
Segment Routing (SR) is a new fertile ground for Traffic Engineering (TE). By decomposing forwarding paths into segments, which specify a list of intermediate delivery points that a packet must visit on its way to the final destination, SR improves TE tasks and enables new solutions for the optimization of network resource utilization.

Optimized Segment Routing Traffic Engineering with Multiple Segments

2021
Network traffic balancing plays a key role in improving network performance. Recently, a new source routing technology, segment routing (SR), has been proposed to increase the network programming ability. SR expresses an end-to-end logical path as a sequence of segments, each of which represents the shortest path between its upstream node and ...

Dynamic segmentation of traffic scenes

Proceedings of the Intelligent Vehicles '95. Symposium, 2002
A new system for the detection and tracking of moving objects is presented. The system can be used to analyze image sequences taken either by a static camera or by a camera mounted on a moving vehicle. The system provides information about obstacles and relative motions for the assisted or autonomous navigation, and is based on a fast image motion ...

Road Traffic Segments Characterization

2017 19th International Symposium on Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing (SYNASC), 2017
The use of personal cars for journeys needed to carry out daily activities, such as at going to work, college or supermarket, can lead to the congestion of streets, the occurrence of road jams, the formation of endless tails at the traffic light, all of which have the effect of decreasing average travel speed. In this paper we will present an algorithm

On the Benefits of Loops for Segment Routing Traffic Engineering

2021 IEEE 46th Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN), 2021
Over the recent years, Segment Routing (SR)-based Traffic Engineering (TE) received more and more attention in the research community. However, what has been mostly neglected so far is its capability to configure looping forwarding paths that visit nodes or even edges multiple times.
