Fleet size estimation for spreading operation considering road geometry, weather and traffic
Extreme weather conditions(i.e. snow storm) in winter time have caused significant travel disruptions and increased delay and traffic accidents. Snow plowing and salt spreading are the most common counter-measures for making our roads safer for motorists.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Energy-efficient street lighting through embedded adaptive intelligence [PDF]
Streetlights place a heavy demand on electricity usage, providing significant financial and environmental burdens. Consequently, initiatives to reduce energy consumption have been proposed, usually by turning off or dimming the streetlight. In this paper,

Spot speed cameras in a series - Effects on speed and traffic safety
Reduced speeds and increased speed compliance are crucial for achieving increased road traffic safety, cutting across most Safe System interventions. Speed cameras have been shown to be effective in increasing speed compliance and reducing the number of fatalities and seriously injured.

Traffic-sensitive speed advisory system based on Lagrangian traffic indicators
Can we elaborate a traffic-sensitive eco-driving or GLOSA (Green Light Optimal Speed Advice) strategy with a frugal amount of data when approaching an intersection? Here is the purpose of this work, which aims to adapt a traffic-theory-based estimation of the expected queue-length within mixed traffic (Connected and non-Connected Vehicles) in the ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
