Physical-geographic factors of terrain trafficability of military vehicles according to Western World methodologies

open access: yesHrvatski geografski glasnik/Croatian Geographical Bulletin, 2018
This paper analyses the existing state, limitations, and possibilities for research of physical-geographic factors in the context of terrain trafficability of military vehicles in order to support the military decision-making process regarding planning ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Wood wasp inspired space and earth drill [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this chapter, we explain why the low gravity encountered on Mars or on the Moon and the low mass of the probes, landers and rovers that carry drilling devices limit classical drilling techniques.

Assessing Sea Ice Trafficability in a Changing Arctic

open access: yes, 2018
Arctic sea ice has undergone rapid changes during the last few decades, with negative implications for over-ice travel and on-ice operations, which benefit from services provided by the sea ice.

Implications of Interdomain Traffic Characteristics on Traffic Engineering [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Transactions on Telecommunications, 2002
AbstractWe study the interdomain traffic as seen by a non‐transit ISP, based on a six days trace covering all the interdomain links of this ISP. Our analysis considers the relationships between the interdomain traffic and the interdomain topology. We first discuss the day‐to‐day stability of the interdomain traffic matrix to evaluate the feasibility of

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

A Mars orbital laser altimeter for rover trafficability: Instrument concept and science potential [PDF]

open access: yes
Limited information on the types of geologic hazards (boulders, troughs, craters etc.) that will affect rover trafficability on Mars are available for the two Viking Lander sites, and there are no prospects for increasing this knowledge base in the near ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Alguns apontamentos das práticas espaciais ao longo da BR-163 (Santarém-Cuiabá)

open access: yesRevista Geonorte, 2017
The Brazilian government’s projects for the Amazon regarding the physical infrastructure of circulation in the 21st century, aim at the completion of constructed geographic objects that do not offer satisfactory conditions of continuous trafficability.
