Train-of-Four monitoring: overestimation [PDF]
According to a survey on the use of muscle relaxants, there are a lot of cases where routine monitoring of the neuromuscular junction using a nerve stimulator is not applied, nor is quantitative evaluation of the Train of Four (TOF) performed when using a non-depolarizing muscle relaxant. Moreover, the need for monitoring is itself being questioned [1].

Validation of a convolutional neural network that reliably identifies electromyographic compound motor action potentials following train-of-four stimulation: an algorithm development experimental study [PDF]
Background: International guidelines recommend quantitative neuromuscular monitoring when administering neuromuscular blocking agents. The train-of-four count is important for determining the depth of block and appropriate reversal agents and doses ...

Optimised reversal without train-of-four monitoring versus reversal using quantitative train-of-four monitoring: An equivalence study [PDF]
Background and Aims: Less residual paralysis in recovery room was demonstrated when train-of-four (TOF) monitoring was applied. The aim of this study was to know whether optimisation of neostigmine reversal without TOF monitoring was equivalent to ...

Comparison of Train of Four Measurements with Kinemyography NMT DATEX and Accelerography TOFscan [PDF]
Introduction: This study was designed to compare the Datex neuromuscular transmission (NMT) kinemyography (NMTK) device with the TOFscan (TS) accelerometer during the onset and recovery of neuromuscular blockade.

Estimation of the effect-site equilibration rate constant using the time-to-peak effect of muscle relaxants measured by train-of-four stimulation during general anesthesia induction [PDF]
Background The concept of the effect-site concentration of anesthetic agents is important. The effect compartment model can be explained using the concepts of effect-site concentration and effect-site equilibration rate constant (ke0).

Impact of normalizing the acceleromyographic train-of-four ratio on detecting residual paralysis—a cohort study [PDF]
Background Quantitative monitoring is recommended to prevent residual postoperative neuromuscular blockade. Guidelines advocate a train-of-four ratio ≥ 0.90 before extubation.

Relationship Between Muscle Tone and Elasticity: Simultaneous Quantitative Assessment Using Train-of-Four Monitoring and Continuous Shear Wave Elastography During Anesthesia Induction—A Prospective Observational Study [PDF]
Background/Objectives: Non-invasive evaluations of muscle elasticity and tone are crucial in musculoskeletal medicine. Shear wave elastography (SWE) provides quantitative assessments of muscle elasticity, whereas train-of-four (TOF) monitoring measures ...
