CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Improved Noise Schedule for Diffusion Training

open access: yesCoRR
Diffusion models have emerged as the de facto choice for generating high-quality visual signals across various domains. However, training a single model to predict noise across various levels poses significant challenges, necessitating numerous iterations and incurring significant computational costs. Various approaches, such as loss weighting strategy

Constraint-based local search for container freight rail scheduling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A traditional container rail service is based on regular timetables. This causes a risk that some customers may turn away if their preferred itinerary is not attainable and the take-up of some services in a fixed schedule may be low and therefore not ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

An Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search Algorithm for Equipment Scheduling in the Railway Yard of an Automated Container Terminal

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In container sea–rail combined transport, the railway yard in an automated container terminal (RYACT) is the link in the whole logistics transportation process, and its operation and scheduling efficiency directly affect the efficiency of logistics.

Reduced-schedule pediatric residency training

open access: yesAcademic Medicine, 1984
Reduced-schedule residency training is an option deemed desirable by many residents and medical students applying for residencies. The number of such positions offered through the National Resident Matching Program and through independent arrangements made between residents and program directors is, however, quite small compared with the total number ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Modelling and solving train scheduling problems under capacity constraints

open access: yes, 2008
Many large coal mining operations in Australia rely heavily on the rail network to transport coal from mines to coal terminals at ports for shipment. Over the last few years, due to the fast growing demand, the coal rail network is becoming one of the ...

Passenger train unit scheduling optimisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This thesis deals with optimisation approaches for the train unit scheduling problem (TUSP). Given a train operator’s fixed timetables and a fleet of train units of different types, the TUSP aims at determining an assignment plan such that each train ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...
