Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Catching efficiency of gill nets and trammel nets for penaeid prawns
Fisheries Research, 2003Abstract Fishing experiments were carried out with gill nets and trammel nets off Cochin, India, from June to August 1991 to determine the relative catching efficiency of these nets to penaeid prawns. A fleet of nets consisting of two sets of gill nets of polyamide (PA) monofilament and PA multifilament; and one set of PA multifilament trammel nets ...

Seasonal variations in selectivity of plaice trammel nets
Fisheries Research, 2003Abstract The size selectivity of plaice trammel nets was measured in an experiment using catch at length data from six different mesh sizes. Three trials at different times of the year were conducted on a traditional Danish gill-netter giving a total catch of 17,163 plaice—one of the largest European gill/trammel net datasets.

An overview of gill net and trammel net size selectivity in the Mediterranean Sea
Fisheries Research, 2020Abstract Mediterranean is one of the world’s most heavily exploited seas, where more than 90 % of the assessed fish stocks are overfished. In this basin small scale fisheries (SSFs) play a major socioeconomic role in terms of fleet size, number of jobs and amount and value of landings.

Abstract The selectivity of gillnets and entangling nets (trammel and semi-trammel nets) was estimated directly by setting nets in outdoor tanks containing a known population of rainbow trout ( Oncorhynchus mykiss ). From the directly estimated selectivity, the entangling effect of the trammel and semitrammel nets was estimated using the gillnet as ...

Non‐commercial invertebrate discards in an experimental trammel net fishery
Fisheries Management and Ecology, 2008Abstract Non‐commercial invertebrate discards in an experimental trammel net fishery were studied in relation to selectivity of the gear, depth, soak time and season. Forty experimental fishing trials were carried out over a 1‐year period with six combinations of small mesh (100, 120 and 140 mm) inner and large mesh (600 and 800 mm) outer panels.

Pingers as deterrents of bottlenose dolphins interacting with trammel nets
Fisheries Research, 2008Abstract In north-eastern Majorca (Balearic Islands), an area where dolphin predations on the nets were repeatedly reported by fishermen, specially during the red mullet fishing season, the effectiveness of pingers in discouraging common bottlenose dolphins from approaching trammel nets was addressed in a field study during September–October 2001 ...
