Herbicide Metabolic Resistance in Poaceae Plants via the GA‐GID1/DELLA‐DOF2‐P450s Module

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plant hormone signaling modulates herbicide resistance in Echinochloa crus‐galli. The GA–DELLA–DOF2 cascade directly activates P450 detoxification genes in two Poaceae species, uncovering a core mechanism of metabolic herbicide resistance. ABSTRACT Barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus‐galli) is one of the world's most important weeds, and the evolution of ...

Isolation and functional characterization of P-TEFb-associated factors that control general and HIV-1 transcriptional elongation

open access: yes, 2010
Originally identified as a factor crucial for RNA polymerase (Pol)11 transcriptional elongation of cellular genes, the P-TEFb kinase was subsequently shown to also serve as a specific host co-factor required for HIV-1 transcription.

REGULATION OF EUKARYOTIC TRANSCRIPTIONAL ELONGATION AND ASSOCIATED DNA REPAIR

open access: yes, 2016
Transcriptional elongation is a crucial step in eukaryotic gene regulation whose mis-regulation leads to cellular pathologies. This makes it quite imperative to aim for a better understanding of the processes regulating transcriptional elongation.

Engineering a 660 nm‐Responsive Optogenetic Inducer of Pyroptosis for Precision Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports a bioorthogonal pyroptosis inducer, PyroRACS. By using a red‐light‐responsive Cre‐On genetic switch to control the expression of highly cytotoxic GSDMDNT, PyroRACS enables the artificial induction of pyroptosis with precise spatiotemporal control.

Functions for S. cerevisiae Swd2p in 3' end formation of specific mRNAs and snoRNAs and global histone 3 lysine 4 methylation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The Saccharomyces cerevisiae WD-40 repeat protein Swd2p associates with two functionally distinct multiprotein complexes: the cleavage and polyadenylation factor (CPF) that is involved in pre-mRNA and snoRNA 3' end formation and the SET1 complex (SET1C ...

A Blood‐Derived Factor Rescues ALS: Platelet Factor 4 Activates OPTN‐Dependent Autophagy to Clear SOD1 Aggregates Independently of PINK1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Systemic platelet factor 4 (PF4) is significantly depleted in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Peripheral PF4 replenishment restores central proteostasis by driving OPTN‐dependent, PINK1‐independent selective autophagy in motor neurons. This intervention effectively clears toxic SOD1 aggregates, blunts glial activation, and preserves neuromuscular ...
