This study introduces a hybrid robot that integrates mechanical assistance by musculoskeletons (i.e., soft pneumatic muscle with rigid exoskeletal extensions), neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and vibrotactile feedback in a lightweight wearable mechatronic complex applicable to the paretic ankle–foot poststroke for gait restoration. The system can

Transdermal penetration enhancing effect of the N-alkylamide spilanthol [PDF]
The dermal penetration of compounds may be influenced by other compounds when mixtures are presented to the skin. Plant extracts, often used in cosmeceuticals, are complex mixtures of wanted bio-actives as well as undesirable impurities like ...

Interactions of Interaural Time and Level Differences in Spatial Hearing with Cochlear Implants
Differences in timing (ΔT) are weighted heavily compared to differences in loudness (ΔL) in binaural hearing with cochlear implants. Abstract Normally hearing humans can localize sound sources quite accurately, with minimum audible angles as small as 1°. To achieve this, these auditory pathways combine information from multiple acoustic cues, including

Cinnamic‐hydroxamic‐acid derivatives (CHADs) are identified as novel inhibitors of the bacterial nucleoid‐associated protein HU, exhibiting potent antibacterial, anti‐biofilm (both inhibition and eradication), and DNA relaxation (anti‐supercoiling) activities. Moreover, CHADs demonstrate strong synergistic effects with multiple antibiotics.
