Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

An acoustically transmissive electrochemical vector hydrophone with horn-driven velocity amplification

open access: yesMicrosystems & Nanoengineering
Low-frequency acoustic sensing is critical for underwater target detection and sound source localization, yet the sensitivity of conventional vector hydrophones is fundamentally limited by the resonance of suspended co-oscillating structures.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

An advanced TMR sensor-based magnetrode for in vivo LFP magnetic field recording

open access: yesMicrosystems & Nanoengineering
The detection and interpretation of brain signals are crucial for advancing brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies. Local field potential (LFP) signals, reflecting synchronized neuronal ensemble activity, offer insights into coordinated neural ...

Biosensors: tool for food borne pathogen detection [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2013
A paramount and alluring sphere of research, now-a-days, is food analysis, because of the breakneck augmentation of food enterprise and highly hightened maneuverability of today's populations. The management of food quality is very indispensable both for

An Inverse-Analysis Method for the Recovery of Applied Forces on [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, a novel tactile photoelastic transducer for normal forces is presented. When a normal input force profile is applied to the transduction medium, stress is generated in the photoelastic layer making it birefringent. Consequently, circularly-

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Highly mechanically stable PEDOT:PSS/PDA-modified microelectrode arrays reveal state-specific dynamic neural activity across sleep-wake

open access: yesMicrosystems & Nanoengineering
Sleep is essential for the modulation of neural functions as well as for preserving physiological balance. However, there is a lack of high-temporal and spatial resolution tools to study the detailed information encoding mechanisms of neurons in deep ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Transducers and repetitions

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1986
The factor transducer of a word associates to each of its factors (or subwords) their first occurrence. Optimal bounds on the size of minimal factor transducers together with an algorithm for building them are given. Analogous results and a simple algorithm are given for the case of subsequential suffix transducers. Algorithms are applied to repetition
