The peripheral hearing mechanism: new biophysical concepts for transduction of the acoustic signal to an electrochemical event.

Physiological chemistry and physics, 1978
A theory of peripheral function in hearing is proposed. It accounts for temporal discrimination among simultaneously received wave and pulse signals, cochlear analysis of acoustic input, and transduction of acoustic energy into biochemical energy by means of resonance and ion-shuttling involving the tectorial membrane and hair-cell complex.

Biophysical mechanisms of membrane perturbation and signal transduction produced by proteins and peptides

2015
My primary research interest is focused on the field of cellular electrical activity, ranging from the ion channels that generates it, up to the study of intracellular processes regulating it, and new generation of drugs. For this purpose, during my Ph.D. I have learnt and improved different cutting-edge techniques, i.e.
