Elemental Analysis of Five Medicinal Plants Species Growing in North Ossetia Using Neutron Activation Analysis

open access: yesAgronomy
One important category of traditional remedies is medicinal plants, which are widely consumed by the population and often subjected to contamination. For the first time, the elemental composition of five wild medicinal plants traditionally consumed in ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Low-molecular-weight transfer factor molecules improve the expression of CD2+ leukocytes in male finishing pigs [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences
The small intestine is a major site of immune defense in pigs. Low-molecular-weight transfer factor (TF) molecules are known to play an essential role in regulating immune responses.

Determination of mass transfer rates in wetted and non-wetted microporous membranes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The mass transfer resistance of microporous membranes placed between a gas and a liquid phase was studied for both wetted and non-wetted membranes. It was found that the mass transfer coefficient can be described according to the film model in which the ...
