Kapitza Length at Solid–Liquid Interface: From Nanoscale to Microscale

open access: yesSmall Science
Understanding thermal energy transport at solid–liquid interfaces is critical for enhancing the performance of nano‐ or microscale systems. Although extensive studies have addressed the interfacial thermal resistance, known as Kapitza length, its impact ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Load transfer mechanism and critical length of anchorage zone for anchor bolt.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
The length of anchorage zone of an anchor bolt affects the distribution of axial force and shear stress therein. Based on a shear-displacement model, the load distribution of anchor bolts in the elastic deformation stage was analysed.

The effects of turbulence length scale on heat transfer

open access: yes, 1992
Turbulence in the flow over a turbulent boundary layer increases the heat transfer above the level that would be expected for turbulent boundary layers in a low freestream turbulence environment. This thesis describes a research programme aimed at understanding and quantifying this effect and, in particular, studying the relevance of the form of the ...

Impact of design and length on the accuracy of closed tray transfer copings

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Experimental Dentistry, 2019
The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of two closed-tray transfer copings for implant impressions (a new design vs. an old design) in two different lengths (short and long).Four groups of transfer copings (NS - new short, NL - new long, OS - old short and OL - old long) were tested. An epoxy resin model was prepared of missing teeth 1.4, 1.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Experimental investigation to improve the performance of thermal storage unit with flat Microheat pipe arrays [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
In this study, the experimental investigation is focused on Thermal Storage Unit (TSU) that utilizes flat Microheat pipe array as its heat transmission core. Thermal power intensity is suggested as a thorough TSU evaluation metric.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
