A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Investigation into the relationship between ethylene and sulfur assimilation in Arabidopsis thaliana and onion (Allium cepa L.) : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science (with Honours) in Biochemistry at Massey University [PDF]
The phytohormone ethylene (C2H4) mediates the adaptive responses of plants to various nutrient deficiencies including iron (Fe)-deficiency, phosphorus (P)-deficiency and potassium (K)-deficiency.

HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Time-resolved NMR monitoring of tRNA maturation
Transfer RNA (tRNA) is regulated by RNA modifications. Here the authors employ time-resolved NMR to monitor modifications of yeast tRNAPhe in cellular extracts, revealing a sequential order and cross-talk between modifications.

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Differential regulation of expression of the multiple ADP/ATP translocase genes in human cells [PDF]
The expression of the genes encoding the three isoforms of the human ADP/ATP translocase (T1, T2, and T3) has been investigated in cultured cell systems under different experimental conditions, using isoform- specific probes.
