A reduced leakage current transformerless photovoltaic inverter

Renewable Energy, 2016
The transformerless inverters used in the grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system induce leakage current due to the absence of galvanic isolation and unstable common mode voltage. Even though, the leakage current is able to be reduced by using the H5 topology, it is still considered high due to the existence of junction capacitance in the switches ...

Bimodal Transformerless Inverter With Three Switches

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2022
The semi-Z-source inverter with least switch count (only two switches) eliminates the leakage current due to the doubly grounded structure. However, the main disadvantage is the high voltage stresses of the switches (the sum of double PV output voltages and the amplitude grid voltage). This paper proposed an improved inverter based on the SZSI.

A High-Voltage Gain Transformerless Grid-Connected Inverter

2022 4th International Conference on Smart Power & Internet Energy Systems (SPIES), 2022
Transformerless inverters are used in small and medium power photovoltaic grid-connected systems due to small-size, low-cost and high-efficiency. Transformerless inverters have problems of leakage current and low-voltage gain in applications due to the lack of electrical isolation and boost characteristics of transformers.
