An integrated transformerless photovoltaic inverter
IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015Transformerless inverters are widely used in grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) generation systems, due to the benefits of achieving high efficiency and low cost. The transformerless photovoltaic inverter may generate a leakage current between the inverter and the grid, through a parasitic capacitance.

Synchronverter-based transformerless PV inverters
IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014In this paper, a transformerless PV inverter is proposed, which is formed by adding a neutral leg into conventional half bridge inverter. It consists of one neutral leg and one inverter leg. The presence of the neutral leg enables the direct connection between the ground of PV panels and the ground. Two main benefits are then obtained.

A New Common-Mode Transformerless Photovoltaic Inverter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2015Transformerless inverters are being widely used in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) generation systems. Transformer elimination, in grid-connected PV systems, has many advantages. This not only reduces cost, size, and weight, but also increases the whole system efficiency. However, once the transformer is removed, there is no galvanic isolation between

Integrated three-phase transformerless PV inverter
2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012This paper proposes a transformerless PV converter in which both dc-dc boost and inverter stages are implemented by using a single standard three-leg inverter. The proposed solution furnishes an important level of component count reduction of active devices, which means cost, size and losses reductions in power switches and diodes.

An Optimized Transformerless Photovoltaic Grid-Connected Inverter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2011Unipolar sinusoidal pulsewidth modulation (SPWM) full-bridge inverter brings high-frequency common-mode voltage, which restricts its application in transformerless photovoltaic grid-connected inverters. In order to solve this problem, an optimized full-bridge structure with two additional switches and a capacitor divider is proposed in this paper ...

Transformerless Photovoltaic Inverters Connected to the Grid
APEC 07 - Twenty-Second Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2007Renewable energy sources are getting more and more widespread, mainly due to the fact that they generate energy by keeping the environment clean. Most of these systems have an isolation transformer included, which if excluded from the system would increase the efficiency and decrease the size of PV installations, furthermore it would lead to a lower ...

Review of Transformerless Inverter Topologies
Power and Energy Systems, 2013In the recent years, there has been a widespread trend in the use of the transformerless inverters in the single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic systems. This has been motivated by the low price, minor size, light mass, and great efficiency associated with them.

Photovoltaic H6-type transformerless inverter topology
2016 IEEE Annual India Conference (INDICON), 2016The concept of transformerless inverters has become a future trend for single phase photovoltaic grid — tied systems. The major factor to be considered while employing transformerless inverters in such applications is the leakage currents. The lack of transformers in inverters, implemented between PV panel and grid results in a galvanic connection and ...

Active common-mode filter for photovoltaic transformerless inverters
IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012In the recent years the research on photovoltaic converters has been focused on topologies that do not feature a line frequency transformer, in order to reduce costs and successfully increase the overall efficiency. The main problem in removing the galvanic isolation is that the parasitic capacitance present between the cell and the metal frame ...

Transformerless Resonant Inverters for Induction Heating Applications
Proceedings of IEEE. AFRICON '96, 2002The aim of the paper is to present transformerless induction heating converters by adding an additional reactive element to the resonant tank. As shown in the paper matching between heating inductor and inverter can be achieved by adequately choice of the third reactive element of the resonant tank.
