The oncolytic virus represents a promising therapeutic strategy involving the targeted replication of viruses to eliminate cancer cells, while preserving healthy ones. Despite ongoing clinical trials, this approach encounters significant challenges. This

Sec6 mutations and the Drosophila exocyst complex [PDF]
To allow a detailed analysis of exocyst function in multicellular organisms, we have generated sec6 mutants in Drosophila. We have used these mutations to compare the phenotypes of sec6 and sec5 in the ovary and nervous system, and we find them to be ...

Adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors can deliver transgenes to diverse cell types and are therefore useful for basic research and gene therapy. Although AAV has many advantages over other viral vectors, its relatively small packaging capacity limits its ...

Identification of PKN2 and MOB4 as Coordinators of Collective Cell Migration
Through a genetic screen, PKN2 and MOB4 are identified as two proteins regulating the healing of an epithelial model wound. PKN2 promotes collective cell migration by maintaining the cohesion of cell monolayers from their lateral junctions, whereas MOB4 restrains collective cell migration and provides a lamellipodial cue for front‐rear polarity in ...

Mobile messenger RNAs (mRNAs) can travel long distances, serving as systemic signals that participate in plant growth and stress acclimation. This work determines that PHR proteins mediate the Pi starvation response (PSR)‐specific long‐distance transport of mRNAs and that these PSR‐specific mobile mRNAs represent noncoding transcripts in recipient ...

Neuronal Transgene Expression in Dominant-Negative SNARE Mice
Experimental advances in the study of neuroglia signaling have been greatly accelerated by the generation of transgenic mouse models. In particular, an elegant manipulation that interferes with astrocyte vesicular release of gliotransmitters via ...

A carbon nanotube‐based biopesticide system (BioCNTs) enables efficient delivery and systemic movement of RNAi molecules to control major tomato viruses. By integrating shRNA and tRNA‐like structures (TLS) with BioCNTs, this green and scalable approach achieves long‐term silencing and high antiviral efficacy through simple foliar spraying.

Patient-derived tumoroids and proteomic signatures: tools for early drug discovery
Onco-virotherapy is an emergent treatment for cancer based on viral vectors. The therapeutic activity is based on two different mechanisms including tumor-specific oncolysis and immunostimulatory properties.

Genome editing in potato via CRISPR-Cas9 ribonucleoprotein delivery [PDF]
Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats and CRISPR-associated protein-9 (CRISPR-Cas9) can be used as an efficient tool for genome editing in potato (Solanum tuberosum).
