The Single‐Nanostructured Optoelectronic Vehicle for neuromodulation Activation (SNOVA) establishes a paradigm for non‐genetic, implant‐free neuromodulation. By integrating NIR‐excitable UCNPs with broadband‐absorbing perovskite QDs, SNOVA efficiently converts deeply penetrating light into localized electric fields that modulate neuronal ion dynamics ...

A Natural Sweetener‐inducible Genetic Switch Controls Therapeutic Protein Expression in Mammals
This study develops a natural sweetener, the psicose‐inducible transgene expression (PURE) system based on an Agrobacterium tumefaciens–derived transcriptional repressor PsiR. The PURE system is highly specific to psicose, being insensitive to other sugars and structurally similar molecules.

Netrin‐1 expression is upregulated in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) during metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis and injury‐mediated liver fibrosis. Secreted Netrin‐1 establishes an autocrine positive feedback loop by binding to UNC5B receptors on HSCs.

Treatment with retinoic acid (RA) is known to produce complex teratogenic effects in vertebrates, and its presence in the developing embryo as an endogenous substance has led to the suggestion that RA might be a natural morphogenetic agent.

Antiviral RNA Interference against Orsay Virus Is neither Systemic nor Transgenerational in Caenorhabditis elegans. [PDF]
UNLABELLED: Antiviral RNA-mediated silencing (RNA interference [RNAi]) acts as a powerful innate immunity defense in plants, invertebrates, and mammals. In Caenorhabditis elegans, RNAi is systemic; i.e., RNAi silencing signals can move between cells and ...

A Trypsin‐Like Serine Protease ZmNAL1a Fine‐Tunes Maize Floral Transition and Flowering Time
This study identifies a trypsin‐like serine protease, ZmNAL1a, that moves from leaves to the shoot apical meristem. ZmNAL1a promotes the floral transition by degrading TOPLESS‐like corepressor REL2, which thereby enhances the expression of key flowering genes through elevating histone acetylation and relieving REL2–ZmEREBP147‐mediated transcriptional ...
